Dayanand College, Hisar values ​​the human dignity of every person, promotes the development of their human potential, ensures full respect to all the provisions of constitution of India, all statuary provisions and judgements of honourable courts regarding the maintenance of human dignity.

Objective of the Policy

  1. A mechanism is developed for the prevention and correction of sexual violence and other sexual
  2. Ensure the letter and spirit of the policy by reporting complaints and their follow-up
  3. Provides an environment free of gender
  4. To ensure equal access to all facilities and participation in College activities
  5. A safe physical and social environment is created that prevents sexual harassment
  6. To promote a social and psychological environment that increases awareness of sexual harassment in its various forms.

Procedure for approaching committee

The Committee deals with issues relating to sexual harassment at DN College, Hisar. It is applicable to all students, staff and faculty. A complaint of discrimination or sexual harassment may be lodged by the victim or a third party. A written complaint may be addressed to the Convener of the Committee. If the complaint is made to the Committee members, they may forward it to the Convener of the Committee against Sexual Harassment.

The following is also sexual harassment and is covered by the committee:

  • Eve-teasing,
  • Crude remarks,
  • Jokes that cause or are likely to cause awkwardness or embarrassment,
  • Innuendos and taunts,
  • Gender-based insults or sexist remarks,
  • Unwanted sexual overtones in any form, including over the phone (obnoxious phone calls), and the like,
  • Touching or brushing against any part of the body or the like,
  • Displaying pornographic or other offensive or derogatory pictures, cartoons, pamphlets, or sayings,
  • Forcible physical touch or molestation, and
  • Physical confinement against one’s will, as well as any other act likely to violate one’s privacy.
