• The Department of English, Dayanand College, Hisar has the same year of inception as the college i.e., 1950. The Department has been playing a significant role in educating and empowering the students for more than half a century. The Department has a literary society that aims at developing critical thinking among the students of literature enabling them to become good research scholars and above all thinking human beings. The faculty members have a remarkable exposure to research activities and most have pursued higher research degrees. At honours and P.G. level the department offers subjects ranging from contemporary British Literature to Indian Writing in English, from World Literature to Contemporary Critical approaches. The department has a well-resourced language lab for students to improve their proficiency in English. We have good facilities for the audio-visual teaching and creative learning process. The department has a remarkable collection of books in the college library. Different academic and co-curricular activities are regularly organized by English Literary Society for the all-round development of students.
