Defence Studies

In the Contemporary world Defence Study is a multidisciplinary subject which includes the study of various aspects of global and National Security.  The programme also covers the Military Conflicts, Terrorism, Economics, International Relations, political and Psychological Aspects vis a vis the origin and evolution of warfare, various instruments and measures of nuclear proliferations and establishment of peace. It also covers the Study of current National and International Geo-Strategic, Geo-Political Environment in contemporary and Historical context.

Department of Defence Studies was established in 2008 with the continuous effort of then principal Dr. R.K.Tomar, First In charge Dr. R.S. Hooda and Dr. S.K. Mishra. Presently Dr. Mahender Singh (HOD), Dr. Pramod Kumar and Dr. Ravinder Kumar are serving in the department. Department is running under self financing scheme.

Courses offered by the department:  Department offers Defence Studies as a optional subject with practical in B.A. General Degree course to the students. It is three years degree program divided in six semesters.

We are committed to interdisciplinary and collaborative study along with pursuing opportunities for sharing knowledge to contribute in the creation of a National Security Awareness and Strategic Culture in our country.

Objective

The objective of Defence Studies is empowering students with knowledge and skills for thinking and analysis to navigate the real world problems, security issues and contribute to society a helping and meaningful way.
